The Beta Inkless Pen writes on paper leaving a mark similar to a lead pencil but it does not use ink, refills or replacement leads. The Beta Inkless Pen's technology was inspired by the silver tipped pen used by medieval scholars. The silver tip has been replaced with a state of the art metallic alloy that leaves an incredibly thin layer of metal on the paper when you write with it. This layer of metal is so thin that the manufacturer estimates it will last 25 years before wearing down completely. In the meantime if the tip becomes a bit blunt and begins to lay down too thick a line you can sharpen it back to a sharper point with fine sandpaper.
We tested it on standard Reflex copy paper and you can see the results in our picture. The line it leaves looks like ordinary HB pencil writing but it feels very smooth to write with and it doesn't smudge like pencil writing. It's perfect for left handed writers tired of smudging their writing with an ordinary pencil.
